What can I use as a smaller alternative to the CA3KN or CA2KN range?

Products with part numbers CA3KN or CA2KN are control relays form the TeSys K range with 4 contacts. Schneider Electric also offers the smaller CA2SK or CA3SK with just 2 contacts.

The K relay has 4 auxiliary contacts, 3 versions are available;

  • 4 N/O and zero N/C
  • 3 N/O and 1 N/C
  • 2 N/O and 2 N/C

The generic part number format for the K relay is; CAuKNvwxy, where:

u = 2, AC control coil
u = 3, DC control coil
v = number of N/O contacts
w = number of N/C contacts
The last two digits, xy, indicate the control coil voltage: for example; BD =24 Vdc, P7 = 230 Vac

The SK relay has 2 auxiliary contacts, 2 versions are available;

  • 2 N/O and zero N/C
  • 1 N/O and 1 N/C

The generic part number format for the SK relay is; CAuSKvwxy, where:

u = 2, AC control coil
u = 3, DC control coil
v = number of N/O contacts
w = number of N/C contacts
The last two digits, xy, indicate the control coil voltage: for example; BD =24 Vdc, P7 = 230 Vac

Note: It is possible to add additional contacts to both the K and the SK relays
