Schneider Electric have developed a range of high-speed cabling solutions for VDI networks (Voice, Data, Image). Designed to support generic Ethernet cabling industry standards, our products have been independently verified to the latest version of ISO 11801: 2002 to ensure component level compatibility and channel performance. Suitable for deployment as building or campus solutions, our connectivity is available either as a field installed solution or industry standard "plug and play". VDI network cabling solutions have been developed in support of Transparent building Integrated SystemsTM. This innovative solution uses Ethernet infrastructure for communication between standard controllers and other building equipment. Management of all key resources is available via web browser based interfaces. In 2001 there were two installations standards relative to the installation of telecommunication cabling: BS6701 which was a code of practice for the installation of apparatus intended to be connected to certain telecommunication equipment. BS7718 which was a code of practice for optical fibre The system guarantees do not make outrageous performance claims. The performance of Merlin Gerin VDI cabling infrastructures conforms to the relevant BS EN 50173 series specification - be it balanced (copper) or optical fibre cabling.
