New IEC61850 communication

ECI 850 server data concentrator has been perceived as a gateway and competition is focusing on that aspect considered as a negative point although competitors do the same when needed.

We no longer have to address the message: Sepam series 20/40/80 offer + IEC 61850 ECI/ACE850 offer.

We have now to address the message: SE provides a Sepam IEC 61850 compliant Offer with 2 IEC 61850 communication levels.

The Sepam designed modularity ( CPU + local or remote HMI + MES + Ana/O + RTD’s + CS + Com Modbus, IEC 103, DNP3 modules, enables to deliver an extendable hardware architecture that meets customer requirements (Just Enough).

The modularity concept enables to integrate an additional IEC 61850 Com module without modifying the basic hardware architecture that allows:
    To upgrade any Modbus , IEC103, DNP3 installation to IEC 61850, without replacing relays, but by adding a Com module controlled by the same configuration software (1 to 1 up 1 to 8 relays) according to the expected level of required performance.
    To process directly any new installation via a direct single or redundant Ethernet TCP/IP link.
Conclusion:
    We no longer speak about Server data concentrator/Gateway, or embedded coupler

    We consider that the Modbus link to the ECI is internal to Sepam because of the modular architecture
