Ask a Question

Is there any risk to the operator in case of large leak

If the leak is very large, almost all the SF6 will be replaced by air. An internal arc could then occur. This doesn't expose the operator to any danger as the RM6 was designed to tolerate an internal arc without any danger, in conformity with appendix AA of IEC recommendation 60298. A diaphragm releases the hot gases which are discharged at the back of the apparatus.
