Hoisting systems
|
|
Controlling lifts and hoists presents challenges to the manufacturers of motor controls, for nowhere is the quality of the control more noticeable. In lift applications for example, there is no more sensitive monitor of ride comfort and drive performance than the human passenger. In hoist examples, the stability of the load that swings pendulous from a crane reflects every deviation in the drive’s performance.

The
Altivar 71 range of AC variable speed drives
from Telemecanique represent the absolute state of the art in sensorless flux vector control to enable high torque at the slowest speeds and thereby deliver complete control over motor performance. The acceleration and deceleration ramps of the motor are held under tight control thanks to innovative magnetic flux vector system of the Altivar drive. This leads to highly stable load transport without judder or inducing undue inertia.
Available as a complete range from 0.37kW up to 500kW, this new drive has been designed with ease of installation and use in mind, having been created under the “Simply Smart” initiative from
Telemecanique
. The first thing users will notice is a clear graphical display that aids setting through its clear messages, graphics, shortcut function keys and online help.
This ease of use belies the sophistication of the drive itself with its outstanding performance in closed loop or sensorless flux vector modes and there are hoist application specific parameters to ease programming and set up.
