VIP 300 - Providing a wide range of selectivity and quality of supply

 

Principle of operation
This self-powered microprocessor based unit requires no external power source or batteries making it the ideal solution for location in remote areas or where auxiliary supplies are not available. Its main function is to detect phase and earth faults within the network, and to trip the circuit breaker


Flexibility
VIP300 self-powered microprocessor unit

The relay allows for a wide range of protection settings for most applications. The IDMT characteristics employed for both the overcurrent and earth fault elements can be easily adjusted to provide discrimination with upstream MV and downstream LV protective devices.
Fast power up of the VIP 300 also provides immediate protection and can detect faults instructing the CB to trip in less than 40ms

  • None directional protection.
  • Separate overcurrent and earth fault indication.
  • Suitable for feeder protection and transformer protection.
  • Flashing LED’s indicate when the relay pick up setting has been exceeded
Close discrimination of the network:
VIP 300 protection characteristics provide high accuracy of the time trip settings and are in accordance with BS142 and IEC 255:
  • Definite time.
  • IDMT standard inverse.
  • IDMT very inverse.
  • IDMT extremely inverse.
