U series - automatic recloser

A modern compact recloser utilising cyclo-aliphatic epoxy housed vacuum interrupters, eliminates the need for additional insulants with ratings up to 27kV, 630A, 12.5kA.

The bistable magnetic actuator mechanism, produces a positive opening and closing action and provides the necessary contact pressure. Tripping and closing pulses are delivered from capacitors located in the control cubicle.

Embedded voltage-sensing screens and current transformers provide outputs to the control cubicle for measurement and protection purposes. The recloser can be supplied with copper stems or optional cable clamp connectors from 400A to 630A.

An auxiliary voltage supply of 110, 220, 240, or 415 volts AC is required to power the unit. This may be derived from a local supply or, where this is inconvenient, a voltage transformer can be provided.

The clearly visible external pointer shows the contact position. The recloser can be tripped and mechanically inhibited from the ground by a hookstick.

Mounting brackets for lightning arresters are optionally available
