PM6 series - switch/ sectionaliser

The PM6 series switch features a fully welded SF6 insulated stainless steel enclosure containing load breakswitches, fault make puffer interruption device and rated up to 38kV, 630A, 16kA. The enclosure contains a burst panel for internal fault overpressure relief, integrated into the gas enclosure.

The contacts are closed and opened by a conventional spring assisted independent manual mechanism, operated by means of an external operating arm or with the addition of a electro-mechanical drive. Tripping and closing power for the motor is supplied by the control cubicle.

Epoxy bushings insulate the main circuit conductors from the outer case and provide the gas seal. Embedded voltage-sensing screens and current transformers provide outputs for measurement and current detection purposes. Cable termination solutions from 400A to 630A are available resulting in a switch/sectionaliser suitable for connection into an insulated conductor system, or a bare conductor system, as appropriate.

Auxiliary voltage supply of 43, 57, 115, or 230 volts AC is required to power the automated unit, which may be derived from a local supply or, where this is inconvenient, a voltage transformer can be provided.

The clearly visible external pointer shows the contact position. The recloser can be operated from the ground by a removable lever and a mechanical low gas pressure interlock included.

Mounting brackets for lightning arresters are optionally available.
