N series - automatic recloser

The N Series automatic recloser features a fully welded SF6 insulated stainless steel enclosure, containing vacuum interrupters, rated up to 38kV, 800A, 16kA. The enclosure contains a burst panel for internal fault overpressure relief integrated into the gas enclosure.

The contacts are closed by a conventional solenoid, operated by means of a stored energy trip spring. Tripping and closing pulses are delivered from capacitors located in the control cubicle.

DIN 47 636 epoxy bushings insulate the main circuit conductors from the outer case and provide the gas seal. Embedded voltage-sensing screens and current transformers provide outputs for measurement and protection purposes. Cable termination solutions from 250A to 800A are available resulting in a recloser suitable for connection into an insulated conductor system, or a bare conductor system as appropriate.

An auxiliary voltage supply of 110, 220, 240, or 415 volts AC is required to power the automated unit. This may be derived from a local supply or, where this is inconvenient, a voltage transformer can be provided.

Clearly visible external pointer shows the contact position. Recloser can be tripped from the ground by a hookstick.

Mounting brackets for lightning arresters are available as an option.
